associate degree's

The Education AA is for people wishing to become elementary or secondary-school teachers. The program, which includes courses in education theory and practice, provides the background needed to transfer to a bachelor ’s program in education. The program also includes teaching strategies for a range of students, such as students with disabilities, the gifted, the emotionally disturbed and the adult population. Offered by Brookdale Community College and Ocean County College.

bachelor's degrees

This Special Education BA provides the broad academic, cultural, and social experiences that enable students to be effective public and private school teachers. The program expands upon a liberal arts education while providing a practical application of educational theory. The program prepares students to teach children with special needs, from nursery school through grade twelve. Offered by Georgian Court College.

masters degree

This MA program is for people aspiring to become educational administrators. Upon completion of the program, candidates are able to apply for a letter of eligibility with advanced standing as a principal. Candidates who possess a valid New Jersey instructional certificate and have three years teaching experience may also apply for the New Jersey supervisor certificate. The Praxis Educational Leadership exam is required at the completion of the coursework. Offered by Georgian Court College.

This MA program provides training for fully-certified teachers to develop areas of teaching specialization. The 36-credit degree includes 24 credits in required courses and 12 credits in electives. Students who are pursuing certification as a teacher of students with disabilities may apply four of the six graduate courses toward this degree as electives. Offered by Georgian Court College.

This four-course,post-baccalaureate program is designed for certified teachers who wish to specialize in teaching children in the early childhood years.The courses can be applied toward master ’s degree programs in early childhood education. Offered by Kean University.
